CAIRO – Kasim, a young British Muslim, always wanted to join jihad against US occupiers in Muslim-majority Afghanistan.

Arriving there, he discovered that his understanding of the term is quite different from that of other “Jihadists” in the area.

“My philosophy was to fight what I believed jihad meant — against those who were invading the Muslim land,” he told The Sunday Times on February 21.
